Kochi: A 42-year old man, prime accused in the alleged human trafficking racket of Sri Lankan Tamils, including women and children, was arrested here on Tuesday, police said.

Antony Miller is a native of Colachel in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, they said.

A group of 38 Sri Lankan Tamils, including five women and as many children, were detained on May 7 after they were found staying in a lodge at Kollam without valid documents. It was discovered that they were brought there for human trafficking, police said.

One of them, Dennis alias Kumar, was arrested on May 10 after he was found to be linked to a local travel firm which had offered to take them to foreign countries.

While some of the Sri Lankans had come through the sea route through Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, others arrived in Kerala by flight through Kochi.

The Lankan Tamils were later sent to refugee camps in Tamil Nadu.
