Landmine blast kills tribal elder, son in Pakistan

 A tribal elder and his son were killed today when a landmine exploded in Pakistan's restive northwest region.

Peshawar: A tribal elder and his son were killed today when a landmine exploded in Pakistan's restive northwest region.

The landmine exploded at Bobo Ghar in Shaktoi area of South Waziristan agency, killing tribal elder Noor Reham Mehsud and his son Hakeemullah Mehsud and injuring three others, police said.

Authorities immediately rushed all the injured to a nearby hospital and initiated a manhunt to nab the culprits.

The Taliban have targeted and killed several pro-government tribesmen and members of anti-militant militias in the tribal belt over the past few years
