Kathmandu: Normal life came to a standstill on Tuesday in a Nepalese city where a bomb blast killed at least four persons during a protest.
All schools, colleges, shops and factories in the Janakpur Municipality remained closed and transport services were halted due to a strike called by Mithila State Struggle Committee to protest the blast.
The explosion occurred when the activists from the Madhesi community were launching a sit-in to press for establishment of a separate Mithila State while promulgating the new Constitution.
Meanwhile, coordinator of Mithila State Struggle Committee, Parameshwor Kapadi has said that they will continue the sit-in protest for the establishment of Mithila State despite yesterday`s blast.
