Malaysian body to build 1,000 homes in Pakistan Kuala Lumpur: A Malaysian organisation would help Pakistan build 1,000 low-cost houses for homeless people in the flood-affected areas, a media report said.

The Malaysia Relief Agency (MRA), which had earlier sent three relief teams to Pakistan, would build the houses at an estimated cost of Rs 83 million, the Online news agency reported.

Abdul Razak Bin Kechik, MRA president, while announcing this during the launch of a charity market in Kuala Lumpur, said the market was aimed at raising fund to finance the project in Pakistan.

Over 30 stalls are selling jewellery, clothing, carpets, medicines and food, mostly of Pakistani origin in the market, proceeds from which will help finance its relief operations in Pakistan.

Razak said the MRA has already started construction in Charsada and Dera Ismail Khan areas.
