Kathmandu, Nov 17: The Maoists in Nepal will hold a key meeting Monday to decide its policy on the integration of former guerrillas with the Army and the nature of country's future government -- multi-party or single party -- system
The meeting to be held somewhere at Bhakatapur district will discuss, among other things, issues relating to Army integration, constitution drafting process and party's political ideology, according to the sources at the party's central office.
The 35-member CWC will discuss the current political situation, review the performance of the government, decide the future course of action of the Maoist party and ways to make the Maoist-led government effective, party insiders said.
The CWC meet will discuss the political papers to be presented by both Prime Minister Prachanda and hardline leader Mohan Vaidya Kiran, said Prashant, office secretary of the Party's Central Secretariat.
Prachanda's political paper favours consolidating democratic republic whereas Vaidya's paper stresses on immediately establishing a people's republic.
The CWC meeting will also prepare agenda for the National Workers Conference of the party and perform works relating to preparation of the conference.
Talking to reporters ahead the meeting, Maoist central member and Minister for Constituent Assembly and Justice Dev Gurung said that the Maoists' will pursue the ideology of People's Republic as its establishment is the aim of all Communists.
However, Finance Minister Baburam Bhattarai is preparing a third draft that would work as a compromise between the two groups within the party.
