 A mild quake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale rocked Nepal on Monday morning, triggering panic among the people who rushed out of their houses.

Kathmandu: A mild quake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale rocked Nepal on Monday morning, triggering panic among the people who rushed out of their houses.

The epicenter of the tremor was at Gorkha, according to the National Seismological Centrre.

It was also felt in Kathmandu, 150 km east from the epicenter.

The tremor was strong enough to force people out of their houses in Gorkha district, according to locals.

A total 375 aftershocks with 4 or more magnitude have been recorded over the past 100 days following the April 25 earthquake that left nearly 9,000 people dead.
