Tankers were targeted with 4 explosions that occurred at short intervals at Pirano market.

Peshawar: Pro-Taliban militants attacked
and blew up four oil tankers ferrying fuel to NATO forces in
Afghanistan here today though there were no casualties, police
said.

The tankers were targeted with four explosions that
occurred at short intervals at Pirano market in Hayatabad, a
neighbourhood on the outskirts of Peshawar that borders the
volatile Khyber tribal region, an eyewitness said.

Three other vehicles were destroyed by the blasts.
The tankers were on their way to Khyber Agency from
Peshawar.

Fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the
blaze.

The only road used by NATO tankers and container
trucks passes through the Pirano area, which is thickly
populated.
