Militants target security forces vehicle in Pak

The vehicle of the Levies militia was on its way to Kurram tribal region when militants detonated the explosive device in Saro Khel area of Khyber-Pakthunkhwa province.

Peshawar: Militants targeted a security forces vehicle with a remote-controlled bomb in Pakistan`s restive northwest on Thursday, injuring four paramilitary personnel, official sources said.

The vehicle of the Levies militia was on its way to
Kurram tribal region when militants detonated the explosive
device in Saro Khel area of Khyber-Pakthunkhwa province.

The vehicle was destroyed by the explosion and four
security personnel were seriously injured, the sources said.

In a separate development, the administration of Hangu
district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province has banned the entry
of Afghan refugees into the area during the Islamic holy month
of Muharram.

The month has been marred by sectarian and militant
violence in past years and authorities have put in place
extensive security arrangements to prevent law and order
problems.

Hangu is one of the areas declared as "sensitive" for
Muharram.
