New Delhi:In line with Pakistan's game to blame India for firing along the border between the two countries, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has 'warned' New Delhi against testing Islamabad's patience on the matter.
As per a report in The Express Tribune, Sharif said that Pakistan's patience should not be construed as its weakness and cautioned that Indian belligerence was a threat to regional and international peace.
“Unprovoked firing by Indian troops on civilian population along the Line of Control and working boundary claimed the lives of innocent people. We have not forgotten them [victims], they live in our hearts,” Sharif said at an event in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
The newspaper further quoted him as saying: “Desire for peace is our strength – and this is why Pakistan has continuously been informing the United Nations about ceasefire violations by Indian forces. The firing from across the LoC has shaken up the conscience of the international community.”
On the issue of Kashmir, he said, “We will continue to support the Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination because Kashmir runs in our blood.”
