Kathmandu: Nepal is committed to developing strong and cordial relations with both India and China and would not allow its territory to be used against any of its neighbours, Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala said on Thursday.

"Nepal has good neighbourly relations with both India and China. We are committed to developing strong and cordial relations with both the neighbours," said Koirala, also the Foreign Minister.

Dismissing as baseless media reports about the arms flow from Nepalese Maoists to the Indian Maoists, she said in a statement that the government had not received any evidence regarding this.

"Such an allegation is totally false, baseless and fabricated", she said, as two local dailies 'Naya Patrika' and 'Rajdhani' quoted her as saying in Nepalgunj, a western Nepal town, that Nepalese Maoists had supplied arms to Indian Maoists.

"The reports have come with malicious intentions to drag me into controversy," Koirala said. "I have neither said anything of this nature in Nepalgunj or elsewhere."

Nepal is committed not to allow its territory to be used against any of our neighbours, she said.
