One killed in B’desh as bomb explodes at Dhaka fair

A 30-year-old man was killed and 10 others injured when a bomb exploded at a fair in Bangladesh`s southern Jessore district.

Dhaka: A 30-year-old man was killed and
ten others injured when a bomb exploded at a fair in
Bangladesh`s southern Jessore district.

Witnesses said unknown miscreants lobbed a bomb at the
rear of music concert being held at the fair, marking advent
of the Bengali New Year, at around 10:30 pm last night.

The panic stricken audience, including women and
children, ran for safety.

Zia, 30, of Sadipur village died on the spot, police
said. The injured were rushed to Navaran Hospital and condition of five of them is stated to be critical. The injured include Shumon, 17, Babu, 16, Jahangir, 17 and Younus,
14. The rest could not identified immediately.

After the incident, police stepped up security in the
region.
