Over 50 injured in New Year firing in Karachi

Injured persons were admitted to different hospitals for medical attainment.

Karachi: At least 50 persons were injured in Karachi from incidents of firing during celebrations on the eve of New Year 2011.

According to sources, despite imposition of Section 144 in Karachi, hundreds of thousands of merrymakers and revellers resorted to aerial gunfire to welcome in year 2011, which resulted in massive injuries, Geo TV reports.

Injured persons were admitted to different hospitals for medical attainment, but no causality had been reported thus far, sources said.
However, some among the wounded are said to be in critical condition, hospital sources said.
