Islamabad: Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry is in contact with its embassy in Tokyo in the wake of an earthquake and a tsunami that hit northeastern Japan on Friday, and the Pakistanis living there are reportedly safe, Foreign Office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua said.
“The Foreign Ministry is in contact with our embassy in Tokyo. They have confirmed that all Pakistani officials of the embassy are safe,” Janjua said in a statement.
“The Pakistani community in the Tokyo area is also reportedly safe. The embassy is trying to get in touch with Pakistanis closer to the area most affected by the earthquake and the tsunami in the northeast of Japan.
