Peshawar: Security forces carried out
ground and air strikes on Taliban positions in the volatile
Orakzai tribal region in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing 15
Fighter jets pounded militant positions in Kasha and
Shakihan areas of Orakzai Agency, official sources said.
Eleven militants were killed and three hideouts
destroyed in the air strikes.
Security forces also shelled militant compounds in the
region between Eisa Khel and Anjani areas, killing four rebels
and destroying two hideouts.
In a separate development, police in Hangu district
arrested three fugitives, including a suspected militant, a
police official said.
