Islamabad: The Pakistan Federal Union of
Journalists will organise a protest rally on June 15 against
the delay in the formation of a judicial inquiry commission to
probe the killings of journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad and 74
other reporters.

PFUJ president Pervez Shaukat, National Press Club
president Afzal Butt and Rawalpindi Union of Journalists chief
Tahir Rathore said the journalist community does not blame any
individual or any other institution for the killing of the
journalists but want an impartial inquiry to expose the
killers.

Shahzad went missing from Islamabad last month, two days after he wrote an article in which he alleged the Pakistan
Navy had been infiltrated by al Qaeda.

His body, bearing signs of torture, was found in a canal
in Punjab province.

The journalists` organisations demanded that the families
of the dead reporters should be given compensation to
recognise their services to the country.
