Peshawar: Pamphlets dropped by Pakistani planes in the lawless North Waziristan region on Tuesday claimed that India, Israel and Al Qaida are funding Taliban fighters in the tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

The two-page pamphlets in Urdu listed seven "sources of strength" of the Taliban in Pakistan.

The first of these reasons was "huge funding" for the militants by India, Israel and Al Qaida, the pamphlets claimed.

Indian consulates in Afghanistan too were backing the Taliban, the pamphlets alleged.

The militants were making large purchases of weapons and explosives with funds obtained from India and Israel, they further alleged.

Terrorists linked with Al Qaida and the RAW and Mossad intelligence agencies too were backing the Taliban, the pamphlets claimed.

Smugglers of 'charas' and opium and unemployed tribal youth were list as another alleged source of strength for the militants.
