Irfan Faiz, who was arrested at the Leeds Bradford Airport, has admitted that the incident could have led to a major flight safety threat, the BBC reports.

The pilot was the captain of flight PK-776 from Leeds- Bradford to Islamabad, the report added.

He was remanded to custody to appear before the Leeds Crown Court on October 18 over charges of smelling of alcohol and not being able to stay steady on his feet under the influence of it.

A Leeds magistrate said he had breached public trust and its consequence could have been disastrous.
