Islamabad: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday said he hoped India and Pakistan will work together to ensure peace, stability and prosperity for the people of South Asia.
Ashraf expressed his views in a message he sent to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee to congratulate him on assuming office.
"I am confident that under your sagacious leadership, both the countries will work together towards ensuring peace, stability and prosperity for the peoples of our region," he said.
"We attach importance to the ongoing dialogue process between Pakistan and India and are hopeful that this would contribute to building mutual trust and confidence and to the peaceful resolution of all differences and disputes," he added.
Ashraf also expressed his best wishes for the good health and happiness of Mukherjee and the progress and prosperity of the people of India.
