Yousuf Raza Gilani has become the first Pak PM to appear on a live TV show and field questions from the public, including those on Indo-Pak ties.

Islamabad: Yousuf Raza Gilani has become the
first Pakistani Prime Minister to appear on a live television
show and field questions from the public, including those on
Indo-Pak ties.

The debut episode of the live show `Prime Minister
Online` was aired last night, during which Gilani answered
questions from the public and tried to address their
grievances.

The 50-minute show will be aired on the first of every
month.

During the show last night, Gilani answered questions on
Indo-Pak ties in the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, a
crippling gas and power shortage, price rise, corruption and
improvement of educational standards.

He said dialogue is the only way to resolve outstanding
issues with India as the two countries "cannot afford wars."

Gilani also expressed his government`s resolve to launch
a `jihad` against corruption in the New Year by taking
legislative measures, including the enactment of an
accountability law.
