Pak PM vows to foil conspiracies being hatched against democracy

Gilani said the PPP government has been facing conspiracies since 2008 after it came to power; however, they managed to face these challenges and conspiracies with the support of the masses.

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said conspiracies are being hatched against democracy in the country, and warned that the present government will foil all such attempts.

"There are conspiracies against to damage the democratic system, but the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will protect the democracy at all cost and will not allow anti-democratic forces to derail the process," The Dawn quoted Gilani, as saying.

Gilani said the PPP government has been facing conspiracies since 2008 after it came to power; however, they managed to face these challenges and conspiracies with the support of the masses.

Gilani said the aims of these conspiracies were to stop Senate elections and the presentation of the fifth budget, and stop the government from completing its tenure.
