Pak rejects India’s concerns over China activities

India had recently asked China to stop its infrastructure development activities in PoK.

Islamabad: Pakistan has rejected India’s concerns over developmental activities by China in Pak-occupied Kashmir region.

During a regular press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tehmina Janjua told reporters that the development of any region in Pakistan or in the PoK is the sovereign right of the country and that of PoK itself.

“We appreciate the fact the China is taking interest in the development in areas that require it”, both in Pakistan or in PoK, she said.

No one should object to the socio-economic development of Pakistan and PoK, she said, adding, “We appreciate the invaluable assistance given by China for development.”

India had recently asked China to stop its infrastructure development activities in PoK.

In a written reply to Lok Sabha on Monday to a question posed by 18 MPs, Defence Minister AK Antony said: "[The] Government is aware that China is undertaking infrastructure projects in PoK. We have conveyed our concerns to China about its activities in PoK and asked them to cease such activities."
