Pak ruling coalition trying to `destroy` SC: Nawaz

Nawaz Sharif held the PPP and its coalition partners responsible for bringing Pakistan to the brink of destruction.

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has accused the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its partners of trying to destroy the Supreme Court.

Sharif held the PPP and its coalition partners responsible for bringing Pakistan to the brink of destruction, reports The News.

Commenting on the recent change in the contempt of court law, Sharif said the PPP is making laws to save just a few people, the Express Tribune reported.

"PPP should not chalk out a law in haste only to protect a handful of people. It should sit across a table with us and other parties and prepare a law through collective wisdom," he said.

He said ``some people`` don’t want to see Pakistan progressing and called upon the government allies to part ways with the present regime in view of the manner in which it is dealing with the Supreme Court.

He also criticised the government of having failed to take action on the issue of load shedding in the past four years.
