‘Pak sincere in forging good ties with India`

Pakistan assured India of its "sincere" desire to work towards forging good neighbourly, friendly and cooperative relations securely founded on the principles of the UN Charter.

New Delhi: Pakistan on Wednesday assured India of its "sincere" desire to work towards forging good neighbourly, friendly and cooperative relations securely founded on the principles of the UN Charter.

In a message fecilitating Pranab Mukherjee on his assumption of office of the President of India, his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari said it was imperative that the two countries "endeavour to promote stability, peace and prosperity in our region and seek peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue".

"I avail myself of this opportunity to assure, Your Excellency, of the sincere desire of the government and the people of Pakistan to work towards forging good neighbourly, friendly and cooperative relations with India, securely founded on the principles of the Charter of the United Nations", Zardari said.
"I wish you every success, good health and happiness and progress and prosperity to the people of India", Zardari`s felicitation message on behalf of the people of Pakistan and his own behalf said.
