Pak soldier, 11 militants killed in Orakzai tribal region

A paramilitary soldier and 11 militants were killed in clashes between security forces and the Taliban in Pakistan`s volatile tribal belt today, officials said.

Peshawar: A paramilitary soldier and 11
militants were killed in clashes between security forces and
the Taliban in Pakistan`s volatile tribal belt today,
officials said.
A personnel of the Frontier Corps was killed and
another injured when a group of Taliban fighters attacked a
security check posts at Tapo Kalay in Orakzai tribal region.

The troops killed six militants and injured seven more
in retaliation firing.

In the Kurram tribal region, security forces targeted
militant hideouts in Chinarak area with heavy weapons and
gunship helicopters.
At least five militants were killed and 10 others
injured in the strikes.

Many militant hideouts were destroyed in the attack.

Officials said the dead and injured militants belonged
to the group headed by Commander Mullah Toofan.
