Islamabad: Suspected Taliban militants
slit the throat of a tribal, accused of aiding Pakistani
security forces, in front of hundreds of local residents in
Pakistan`s Khyber tribal area, a media report on Thursday said.

The victim, a petty vendor named Malang Meerak, was
accused of aiding Pakistani security forces.

The militants forced local residents to witness the
killing of Meerak in Bara area yesterday. A number of persons
fainted after watching the gory incident, the Dawn newspaper
reported.

The incident was the second of its kind in the area in
less than three weeks. Militants also killed a taxi driver in
a similar manner recently.

In a separate incident, Taliban militants killed two
men in the country`s troubled northwestern tribal belt for
ferrying supplies to Afghanistan.

A truck driver and his helper were killed by the
Taliban in Baizai town of Mohmand tribal region yesterday for
violating a ban imposed by the militants on ferrying supplies
by truck to Afghanistan, reports said.

The militants stopped the truck as it entered Pakistan
after supplying livestock to Nangarhar province of
Afghanistan.

They shot dead the driver and helper and then set the
truck on fire.
