Islamabad: Pakistan wants the early resolution of the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people as this is imperative for lasting peace in the region, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Monday.

Gilani made the remarks during a meeting with "President" Raja Zulqarnain Khan and newly-elected “prime minister" Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

"The whole nation is united on the Kashmir issue and Pakistan wants its early resolution according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people as this is imperative for lasting peace in the region," Gilani was quoted as saying in an official statement.

"Pakistan's principled stance on Kashmir issue remains unchanged and we will continue extending political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir," he added.

Referring to his recent meetings with various world leaders, Gilani said he had highlighted the Kashmir dispute and emphasised the need to resolve it.

Khan appreciated Gilani's endeavours in raising the Kashmir issue at different forums and thanked the government of Pakistan for its support to the Kashmiri people.

From day one since its creation in 1947, based on `two nation theory` Pakistan continues to suffer from Kashmir phobia. It is a pity that instead of improving the lot of millions of its impoverished people, Pakistan is raking up Kashmir issue. After all, which Kashmir Pakistan is talking about? The entire J&K, including POK, Gilgit, Baltistan and large chunk of territory in Ladakh adjacent to Karakoram pass ceded to China by Pakikstan, illegaly forms an integral part of India which Pakistan should vacate and hand over to India to normalise relations with India.

Mr Gilani,

Quit the India obsession. Thousands of people are dying every day in your country due to terrorism. Why are you bothered about the self - determination rights of the Kashmiris...I think u must focus on the Pakistanis first. You and ur assorted gang of goons will be responsible for Pakistan`s demise from the world map

I hope for Pakistan`s sake that the Kashmir issue is NOT solved. The day the issue is solved will be the day that Pakistan ceases to exist as an integral nation. The only thing binding the different states in Pakistan is the common Kashmir cause. The moment that is removed, they will jump all over each other and will eventually break-up Pakistan.

Which Kashmir is he talking about? Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of India which no one can separate. In a day Paki`s take name of Kashmir more than name of Allah.
