Karachi: Pakistan`s intelligence agencies detected 1,100 cases of varied nature of terror activities, said Interior Minister Rehman Malik here.

"1100 cases of varied nature of terrorist activities across the country were detected during the last year," Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Rehman Malik as saying.

"We are in a state of war against terrorists," he told newspersons Monday after presiding over a meeting at National Crisis Management Cell.

The minister said that the intelligence agencies, including Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), have thwarted several acts of terrorism.

Pakistan has faced a string of terror attacks over the past few years, particularly after the army battled the terrorists in the mountainous North Waziristan region. Terror attacks significantly increased after the May 2 killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in his hideout in Abbottabad city by US commandos.
