Islamabad: Pakistani authorities on Sunday launched a crackdown on international human trafficking networks in the country.
"Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered the arrest of all big fish involved in human trafficking," said a source in the Interior Ministry.

Khan sought results within a week and asked officials to focus on all routes "through which women from west Asian states come for illegal activity", sources said.

"Any employee of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who might be involved in this racket should also be arrested," Khan directed the?agency`s chief.

The FIA looks after immigration issues.

Besides, Khan sought a probe into the role of visa officers in Pakistani embassies in countries linked to human trafficking.

Earlier this month, Khan suspended the entire FIA staff at the international airport in Rawalpindi for allowing two foreigners to enter the high-security complex without proper documentation.
