Pakistan: Pasha retires; Islam is new ISI chief

Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam has assumed charge as the new chief of Pakistan`s powerful spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence.

Islamabad: Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam on Monday assumed charge as the new chief of Pakistan`s powerful spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Islam was earlier serving as the corp commander at Karachi, reported Geo News.
He succeeded Lt Gen Shuja Pasha who retired on Sunday. Pasha was a close confidant of Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
