Lahore: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan was on Thursday declared fit to travel after doctors conducted an X-ray of his fractured spine and found "tremendous improvement".

"An X-ray of Imran Khan`s backbone was carried out, which showed tremendous improvement," said Ijaz Chaudhry, a leader of the Punjab chapter of the Tehrik-e-Insaf.

Khan, seriously injured when he fell off a forklift during an election rally in Lahore on May 7, had been declared completely fit to travel, Chaudhry said.

The cricketer-turned-politician Khan is expected to take oath as a member of the National Assembly or lower house of parliament on June 20 in Islamabad.

Khan, 60, was discharged from Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore two weeks ago and has been recuperating at his home.

He announced that his party would launch a country-wide protest against the anti-people budget for 2013-14 unveiled by the PML-N government yesterday.
