Peaceful demonstrations against report Sri Lanka`s right: UN United Nations: Following demonstrations against a UN report on possible war crimes in Sri Lanka during the final battle against LTTE, the world body has said that people have the right to protest peacefully.

"It’s everybody’s right to demonstrate and to do so peacefully. That appears to have been the case on May 1," Martin Nesirky, UN spokesperson, told journalists yesterday.

"We’ve said repeatedly that we have heard what’s being said publicly, that we have offered on more than one occasion for the Government’s response. Formal response to be published alongside the report," he added.

Demonstrations were held in Colombo against the recently released UN report, which outlines allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity against the government and Tamil Tigers.

"The panel’s determination of credible allegations reveals a very different version of the final stages of the war than that maintained to this day by the government," the report said.

On May 1, hundreds took to the street in response to a call by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to rally against the report.

The UN has said that it will publish any government response to the report.

"And that offer still stands," Nesirky said. "Should we receive an official response, we’ll distribute it in the same way that we did the report."

Question to Donki Boon
Hi mate do you have any comments about the war crimes committed by the US and its allies in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and the latest murder of an un-armed man in Pakistan. How could you give them an open license to kill innocent civilians when you are entrusted a job to protect civilians. May be you are already working hard for another term as General Secretary. What a shameful way to find your living. There are beggers on the roads of Third World who are truly gentlemen - but you are not a gentleman. DISGRACEFUL. You are most wanted War Criminal in the World right now. There will be a court soom wher you will be the accused.

UN chief displayed his naive nature in handling international affairs by personally appointing a terrorist biased committee to investigate past war crimes in Sri Lanka under the influence of racist UN officials such as Navi Pillay. The report came out with baseless and bias charges against the Sri Lankan government which successfully ended terrorism in the country, bringing about long awaited peace and harmony. The report was based on video film, which was directed and produced specially by terrorists for a media organization and it totally destroyed the reconciliation process in the country which was underway. This was a major setback to this country which was just trying to recover from 30 years of terrorism and war. The growing economy which gave a lifeline to masses of the island nation after 30 years was pulled back by this Ban Ki-moon orchestrated report. Single headedly Ban-Ki Moon has created chaos in this small and lovely Island. Lot of companies and businesses are suffering due to the after math of this report and thousands of poor Srilankans will loose their jobs because of this unnecessary action. Hope Mr. Moon will identify his mistake and take necessary measures to correct his action. Almost all Asian countries and millions of people around the world are rallying against him for his action against this little and beautiful Island.
