Lahore: Ruling Pakistan People`s Party general secretary Jahangir Badar on Saturday alleged that former President Pervez Musharraf was the "killer" of former premier and party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
Badar made the remarks while talking to reporters on the sidelines of an exhibition of photographs of Bhutto, who was killed in a gun-and-bomb attack in Rawalpindi in December 2007.
PPP spokesperson Fauzia Wahab was also present at the event. Replying to a question, Badar said many people were arrested in the course of the investigation into Bhutto`s murder and "many more would be arrested soon."
Wahab said Bhutto`s assassination was "not a routine murder" as it was a conspiracy.
Bhutto`s killers would be arrested soon, she said.
Musharraf, who has been living in self-exile in Britain since last year, has said he was not in any way responsible for Bhutto`s death.
