The former Tamil militant group to join TNA for the next round of talks.

Colombo: A former Tamil militant group is
expected to join the mainstream Tamil National Alliance (TNA)
for the next round of talks with the government over issues of
resettlement of the war displaced persons.

Sources said People`s Liberation Organisation of Tamil
Eelam (PLOTE), a breakaway faction of LTTE, is likely to
participate in talks with the government to discuss
reconstruction activities in the war affected Tamil dominated
However, it was not immediately clear if the TNA had
agreed to the presence of the PLOTE at the next round of talks
scheduled to be held on March 1.

The TNA and the government have so far held two rounds
of direct talks over the issues of resettlement of the IDPs,
livelihoods, land rights of the north and eastern people and
problems faced by the north eastern fishing communities.
The government, at the inaugural talks held in
December, had appointed a high powered committee consisting of
former prime minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayaka.
