PoK Chief Justice shot at, wounded in Muzaffarabad

Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, the Chief Justice, was taking a walk with his bodyguards near his home, when attacked.

Islamabad: The Chief Justice of
Pakistan-occupied Kashmir`s High Court was on Tuesday shot at and
seriously injured by a man in the northern city of
Muzaffarabad.

Ghulam Mustafa Mughal, the Chief Justice, was taking a
walk with his bodyguards near his home in Muzaffarabad, the
capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, when the gunman opened
fire at him, witnesses and police were quoted as saying by TV
news channels.

The judge was hit by a bullet in the stomach.

He was taken to a nearby military hospital where doctors
performed surgery on Mughal.

The attacker managed to escape.

No further details were immediately available about the
incident. The motive behind the attack too could not be
ascertained.
