Washington: The relationship between the US and Pakistan is "very important", the White House has said amidst reports that the US-Pak tie is not at the best.
"The relationship between Pakistan and the United States is very important. The cooperation between two countries and governments has been important, and continues to this day," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters at his daily news conference.
The two countries are working together in the fight against terrorism, he said. "We are engaged in a shared goal of defeating insurgents and terrorist groups."
However, he refused to discuss specifics about intelligence operations.
"But I can tell you that the cooperation between two countries is important and continues," he said in reply to a question on the reported turbulence in the relationship between the two nations.
