Reports of ‘furious’ Kayani ‘hypothetical` Islamabad: The presidency on Saturday rejected reports that Pakistan Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had complained to President Asif Ali Zardari about the Prime Minister's criticism of the military's handling of the memo scandal.

Rejecting media reports in this regard, presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said they were based on speculation.

"The reports, without quoting source, are hypothetical, based on conjectures and in the realm of speculation," Babar said in a brief statement.

Media reports had said that Gen Kayani had raised Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's remarks during a meeting with President Zardari.

The reports said Kayani was "furious" at Gilani's criticism of affidavits on the memo issue that were filed by the Army and intelligence chiefs in the Supreme Court.

Kayani reportedly demanded that Gilani should explain his remarks or withdraw them.

He reportedly contended that the statements were "divisive".

During an interview on Monday, Gilani had said the Army and intelligence chiefs had acted in an "unconstitutional and illegal" manner by filing affidavits on the memo issue in the Supreme Court without getting the government’s approval.

The military hit back by saying that Gilani's remarks could have "grievous consequences".

First during interview with Chinese news paper PM said that the Army and intelligence chiefs had acted in an ``unconstitutional and illegal`` manner by filing affidavits on the memo issue in the Supreme Court without getting the government’s approval later on PM said they violated the “rule of business”. Here question arises that, what is the difference between constitution, law and rule of business? Does PM know the difference between constitution, law and rule of business? Does violation of constitution, law and rule of business have same category and same grade treason, crime or violation of rules?

Army never has good relation with PPP since they formed the govt. It is a history of Pakistani politics that Arrmy did not let the elected govts run their respective govts peace fully, and always wanted govt to remain under the thumb of army and PPP never bow to their pressure , that why their leadership either hanged, killed and lashed behind the bars. Pakistani people are so unfortunate that their judiciary was never been independent, we had lots of hopes with this chief justice but to our utter dismay he failed the nation. This govt would have been over thrown a long time ago but this time Zardari played his cards so intelligently and kept the smaller provinces in his fold and give them ownership of their respective provinces. Army always taken for granted to defame PPP but this time it has to face another tune. Our PM says now enough is enough for your respect sake PPP always took the burden of bed moves army played, now what you do should bear it, how long we hide it, either learn it or bear all the burns.
