Kathmandu: Nepal witnessed a second high-profile marriage within months as Andreas Siddhartha, son of Deputy Prime Minister tied the knot with Sristi Koirala, a doctor.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala hosted a reception on Sunday at the Army Officers` Club in Kathmandu for her 32-year-old son, a financial consultant which drew Nepalese top brass as well as leaders from India.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba and Surya Bahadur Thapa, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML President Jhala Nath Khanal were among the prominent personalities who graced the occasion.
KC Tyagi, General Secretary of the JD(U) and some other Indian leaders also attended the wedding function where more than 3,000 people were invited.
The wedding of Sujata`s son comes four months after the wedding of Bollywood star Manisha Koirala, who is also the niece of Sujata.
Manisha is the grand daughter of founder leader of Nepali Congress and former prime minister BP Koirala, elder brother of late Girija Prasad Koirala, father of Sujata.
