Islamabad: A senior police officer and his friend were gunned down by unidentified men in the port city of Karachi in southern Pakistan on Monday, police said.
Superintendent Police Shah Mohammad Shah and his friend were killed by the motorcycle-borne gunmen near Bengali Camp in Korangi this afternoon.
The police officer was attacked by four to six gunmen who fled after shooting him.
Shah succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.
Sindh Police police Mushtaq Ahmed Shah said he suspected Shah might have been targeted for taking part in a recent operation against criminal gangs in Lyari area.
