The women had assembled at a house at Essakhel village in the outskirts of Peshawar for funeral prayers, when the bomber blew himself up in a bid to avoid his arrest by the police.
A raid was being conducted in the area following a tip-off regarding the presence of suspicious persons, police said.

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG), Shafqat Malik told reporters that four women have been killed in the suicide blast.

Six persons, including a child, were injured.
