Six killed in Sri Lanka as boat capsized in lake

Colombo: At least six persons, including
three of the same family, have been killed when their boat
capsized at a lake in Sri Lanka`s north central province,
police said on Thursday.

Husband and wife and their two-and-a-half-year-old
child are among the victims. Their boat capsized when they
were enjoying a ride in Mahasen lake in Polonnaruwa district,
police said.

According to initial reports, others drowned were
women. The family from central hill country was visiting their
relatives.
