Colombo: The Sri Lankan Army has recovered several things including a satellite equipment and packets containing 3 Kilogrammes of cyanide powder during their search operations for arms and ammunition left by the vanquished Tiger rebels.
The Criminal Investigations Department with the Trincomalee Police recovered the Satellite equipment of the LTTE was recovered.
A satellite antenna, two satellite phones, several LTTE uniforms and a photo album of its deceased leader Vellapillai Prabhakaran have also been found during a separate the search operation in Serunuwara area.
Army troops also found five packets powder cyanide weighing a total of 2 kgs and another cyanide powder pack of 1 kg in Mathiyamadu and Vellamullivaikkal respectively.
It also recovered parts of a T-56 weapon, four M-16 magazines, fifty-eight rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, three hand grenades, one claymore mine, six Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), and eight Arul bombs, the Army said.
Meanwhile, Navy troops found 5200 detonators and twelve 6 V batteries from the general area of Chettikulam in Vavuniya.
