Sri Lanka police raid brothel in Colombo
Sri Lanka`s police raided a brothel operating out of a luxury condominium located at a short distance from President`s official residence and arrested five women.
Colombo: Sri Lanka`s police on Saturday raided a
brothel operating out of a luxury condominium located at a
short distance from President`s official residence here and
arrested five women, including two foreigners, in this
Police said they have arrested two East European and
three Sri Lankan women who are said to have been working at
the brothel which operated out of the eight floor of the
Liberty Plaza shopping and apartment complex.
Police said the owner had made structural changes to
the eighth floor of the apartment and established a secret
staircase leading to another apartment on the seventh floor
where action took place.
"This is one of the biggest raids we have carried
out," a police official said.
The raid was also a serious embarrassment to the local
police and security authorities as it is within a stone`s
throw from the Temple Trees, official residence of the
president, and declared a high security zone.
