Sri Lanka says 26,000 workers in South Korea safe

The Sri Lankan government said Wednesday that over 26,000 migrant workers in South Korea were safe.

Colombo: The Sri Lankan government said Wednesday that over 26,000 migrant workers in South Korea were safe.
Foreign Employment Minister Dilan Perera assured citizens that if any threat existed, the government would immediately take steps to return home all Sri Lankan workers currently in South Korea. Perera downplayed the threat from North Korea Tuesday calling all foreigners to leave South Korea but insisted that precautions have been taken to safeguard thousands of Sri Lankans working there. "At the moment there is nothing to worry about," he said. IANS
