Sri Lankan Air Force jet crashes

A Sri Lankan Air Force MIG-27 jet crashed in northwestern region but the pilot ejected safely, the air force said.

Colombo: A Sri Lankan Air Force MIG-27 jet Monday crashed in the country`s northwestern region but the pilot ejected safely, the air force said.
The jet came down in Dummalasuriya, around 75 km from Colombo, Xinhua reported.

The air force said it was not sure what caused the crash or whether there were any casualties on the ground.
