Sri Lanka's army on Wednesday said it will share its war experience in crushing Tamil Tiger rebels with at least 54 nations during a three-day forum in the capital Colombo beginning from May 31.

The army's no-holds-barred offensive overwhelmed the Tamil Tigers who were at one time controlling one third of the island's territory and regarded one of the world's most ruthlessly efficient guerrilla outfits.

However, the military success was also marred by allegations of war crimes.

The US has led international calls for an independent investigation which Sri Lanka resists.
