Lahore: The swearing-in ceremony for
Punjab Governor-designate Latif Khan Khosa, who will succeed
assassinated Salmaan Taseer, was today put off till Thursday
in the wake of the murder of the parents of a leading judge of
Pakistan`s Supreme Court.
The spokesman of Governor`s House said the ceremony
had been postponed following the murder of Justice Javed
Iqbal`s parents in Lahore last night.
Justice Iqbal is heading or a member of apex court
benches hearing several high-profile cases.
His elderly parents were killed in mysterious
circumstances at their home within Lahore cantonment.
President Asif Ali Zardari yesterday named Khosa as
the new Governor of Punjab following the assassination of
Taseer, who was gunned down by a police guard for criticising
the controversial blasphemy law.
