Taliban kill 9 police in Afghan north: Report

Kunduz: Taliban rebels killed nine Afghan police officers on Thursday in northern Kunduz, an official said, the latest strike by the guerrillas who have stepped up raids in what was once a relatively secure part of Afghanistan.
The attack happened just before dawn when the policemen were asleep, Kunduz Governor Mohammad Omar told reporters.
"Only one policeman survived the attack, but he was wounded and taken to hospital," Omar said.
