Islamabad: The mother and brother of a paramilitary personnel were killed while his daughter and son were critically injured when Taliban fighters attacked his house in the restive Mohmand tribal region in northwest Pakistan, officials said on Wednesday.
Faqir Shah, a personnel of the Khasadar militia, was
in his home at Lodin Khel area of Mohmand Agency when it was
attacked by Taliban fighters early this morning, officials
said.
The militants targeted the house with automatic
weapons and grenades just before 'sehri', the pre-dawn meal
during the Islamic holy month of Ramzan.
Shah's mother and brother were killed instantly.
His son and daughter sustained critical injuries and
were taken to a hospital in Ghalanai, headquarters of Mohmand
Agency. The militants fled from the area after the attack.
