Islamabad: Three tankers carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan were Monday torched by armed men in two different incidents of violence in Pakistan`s
southwestern Balochistan province.
A convoy of tankers was on its way to the Chaman border post from Karachi when gunmen intercepted the vehicles at Akhtarabad area of provincial capital Quetta and fired at them.
One tanker was burnt, though its driver and cleaner escaped unhurt.
In another incident, armed men stopped two tankers heading towards Afghanistan in Mangochar area.
They fired indiscriminately at the vehicles and fled after warning the drivers to stay away from the vehicles.
The tankers were destroyed though there were no reports of casualties.
Militants have destroyed over 100 container trucks and tankers ferrying oil and supplies to US and allied forces in Afghanistan is a series of attacks across Pakistan over the
past few weeks.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for most of these attacks.
