Three persons, including two children, have been killed and several others injured as roofs of many houses collapsed due to heavy rain in Lahore and its neighbouring areas.

Lahore: Three persons, including two children, have been killed and several others injured as roofs of many houses collapsed due to heavy rain in Lahore and its neighbouring areas.

The first incident took place in Nishtar Colony yesterday when the roof of a dilapidated house suddenly came down killing five-year-old girl named Simran and injuring three others, the Nation reported.

Meanwhile, two persons, including a child, were killed when the roof of a house in Chongi Amar Sidhu caved in as the area received heavy rains yesterday.

Dozens of people, including women and children, were injured in various incidents of wall collapse, road accidents and other rain related occurrences.

Rainwater has inundated several low-lying areas in the city with more rain predicted in coming days.

Nearly 100 people have been killed and another 44 injured in torrential downpours and floods in different parts of Pakistan this year.
